Lots of new stuff happening with work...very cool stuff, but also very tiring!. Isn't it amazing how complete concentration really wears you out mentally? I am listening to a really great pod cast about the next generation of database technology....its going to be very cool! I wish I could spend more time exploring bleeding edge technology.

It also pisses me off that in Japan and many other places around the world you can get a 20 - 100 Mb internet connections in your house for approx $20.00US.
What is wrong with our country? We getting blown away in the new arms race (READ: Technology). The United States is being held back in this area by politics and big business. Cable and traditional phone companies are entrenched in a network infrastructure that is dilapidated and poorly maintained, not to mention unscalable! In the 80's and early 90's we should have been updating all of the main network trunks to the latest fiber like China or Japan…
The sad state of our network infrastructure is delaying many great technologies from advancing. Digital media, Network storage and mobile computing are just a few of the areas suffering. Imagine a day when you could walk down to the park to check your email on your lunch hour. Imagine being able to download new songs to your cell phone or Ipod while driving…sounds great doesn’t it? Well if we lived in Tokyo this would be a reality!
