The Tao of Jim
   Thoughts and Stuff

As some of you may know, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer a while ago. As an unabashed momma's boy this affected me deeply. She is and will always be the biggest inspiration in my life. Anytime I have challenges in my life I always think about her. She overcomes more by just getting out of bed everyday than I could ever imagine. She is and will continue to be the strongest person I know.

Luckily, she caught it in the very early stages, thank god. She is under going treatment now and doing very well. BTW, for all the women in my life. If you are not doing breast self-examinations...why not?

Me, Steph and her Mom, as well as my sister and her family are walking in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Boise on May 10th. So I need to raise some money. Please give what you can!

This is a wonderful cause. We are just finishing up a neighborhood garage sale to raise money for this ... in fact my garage is still 1/2 full and will hopefully be done on Friday. I made three b/c corduroy quilts that we did raffles on as well and raised some decent money with those.

Thank you Son for the wonderful words. I love you so much, and really appreciate having fabulous kids who loves me enough to keep me motivated by their examples to live life fully each and every day.I am blessed to have them care enough to push me when I need pushed, and hug me when I need hugged. Thank you Jim, Kim, Steph and Dave. I love you each and every one. This race for the cause is GREAT!! and I need each and every one of you reading this to either do breast exams, or love the women in your life enough to bug them to do exams so that hopefully you or they will never have to hear the scary word "cancer" in their lifetime. It's the best " 2 minute gift you can give yourself!"
